EVERYONE DESERVES ART! Article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Article 27

1. Everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits.

2. Everyone has the right to the protection of the moral and material interests resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production of which he is the author.

Eleanor Roosevelt played an outsized role in the development and acceptance of the UN's human rights policies - "After Eleanor Roosevelt introduced the final draft of the Declaration to the General Assembly, 48 nations gave their approval, with no negative votes.  This was followed by an unprecedented standing ovation for the woman who soon became known as First Lady of the World."

I have come to realize that so much of what I love about the US and the world in my lifetime is owed to her vision. Thank you Eleanor for showing up for the world when you could have easily sat on the porch sipping cocktails instead.
