I remember sitting in the tiny screening room @ Soho House and watching this doc in 2016. I am a big fan of Hockney and lived walking distance from his Nichols Canyon home for 15 years but neither of those facts hit me as much as this film, it was joy filled, honest and sometimes a sad account of an artists life, and I realized in that little screening room a decade ago it was the way I was taught to see the world and to live. Thank you David Hockney for your art, your genius, your tenacity, your honesty, your weirdness and all you gave to the world. 88 years was about half of what we needed from your time with us. Safe fantastical voyage into the next relm you will delight and make more meaningful.
